As many of you are aware this year presented an interesting challenge to the CRA in regards to the BoD election. We would like to thank all the candidates who put their name in the hat, and all of those of you whom cast your ballots. After multiple tries, unfortunately, we were still unable to get the necessary amount of votes to have a successful election. Below is an excerpt from the December 2014 CRA Insider that talks a bit about these unusual circumstances.

“Unfortunately, I must report that our third attempt at holding the election for the third seat was essentially a repeat of the original election. A total of 68 ballots were received this time around, establishing that a candidate needed to receive a minimum of 35 votes in order to be elected. There were five candidates that received votes, once again effectively diluting the vote totals such that no candidate received the required 35 votes to be elected. That said, I can report that the voice of the voters was clear in that Stephen Johnson received 41% of the total votes cast, while the next closest candidate received 23%. As the election did not yield an officially elected winner, the Board has chosen to appoint Steve Johnson to serve as an interim Board member until we can hold a successful reelection for the third seat. This is currently being planned to coincide with the May race weekend. Please feel free to contact me with any questions/concerns you may have regarding this ongoing strange string of events.”

Along with that here is an official statement regarding the empty director seat that was vacated by Dwayne Stroman when he relocated to California:

“To those that attended the banquet, you heard the announcement of Dwayne Stroman’s resignation from the BoD due to his recent relocation to southern California. As soon as the results from the December 2nd reelection were known, the BoD turned attention towards identifying a suitable replacement. On behalf of the entire Board, it is my pleasure to announce that Anna Hanson has accepted the appointment to serve out the remaining two years of Dwayne Stroman’s term on the CRA BoD.”

As more information about the follow-up election comes to light we will put that information out there.
