Heads-up everyone!  (You’ll get the pun in a minute)

There are TWO issues to read about below:

1: There is an updated rulebook AVAILABLE HERE that has some clarifications regarding Featherweight and how it pertains to Trophy Dashes and Endurances.  The supplement can BE FOUND HERE.
2: Please check your helmets to ensure they meet CRA requirements.
From the 2017 CRA rulebook:

Section 5 – Rider Equipment

All competitors are required to wear the following equipment while riding in practice or competition:
Undamaged full-face helmet with face shield and bearing a stamp of approval from one of the following international standards:
Snell M2005, M2010 or M2015(USA)
BS. 6658 TYPE. A (GREAT – BRITAIN)
ECE 22 – 04 & ECE 22 – 05 “P” (EUROPE)
JIS 8133:2000 / JIS 8133:2007 (JAPAN)

All these listed standards will remain valid as long as the rider can prove a date of manufacturer within the last 5 years.

Snell 2005 certification has expired.   It is possible to have a Snell 2005 certified helmet that is 4 years old, and we don’t expect that these helmets are any less protective than before the certification and grace period expired.
The CRA will be removing the Snell 2005 certification from the rulebook at the end of the 2017 season.
Please check your helmets to ensure they meet all current requirements, and plan to replace helmets that don’t meet any other accepted certification requirements than Snell 2005 before the start of the 2018 season.
