is back!

I have worked with Jed and Kristi over the winter to foster the return of the clean-up weekend!

For those of you who remember, years ago volunteers from the various clubs that come to the track, would gather some weekend before the track officially opens for the season to volunteer and take care of the little things that slip through the cracks during the season. We would help with trash pick-up, general repair, painting, etc.

It all came to an end during the Colonel years because he made it so difficult to work with even when we were trying to help.

Luckily, we have Jed and Kristy now and they have welcomed the return of the clean-up weekend tradition with open arms and have decided that weekend to be April 24/25.

Jed will provide a "wish list" of things that have gone by the wayside over they years along with materials to correct them and in return will allow our group of volunteers the 1st opportunity of the year to get some pre-season camping in to start the year!

I am heading up the volunteer effort on behalf of the CRA workers and have created a facebook event to get a headcount to provide to Jed and Kristi. Anybody interested should shoot me an email at: dennikro@gmail.com or send me a friend request on facebook (Dennis Kronberg) and I'll add your name to the event invite. All the details are on the event invite.

This is NOT an opportunity to play on the track or otherwise get any sort of track time before anybody else so don't expect any such activities. We're there to fix and clean-up stuff.

Thanks,
Dennis

Its awsome you took the time to make this happen again Dennis! Things like this have always show the real spirit of this club.

Jed and Christi have done allot to improve the track and facility that has improved the CRA experience and saftey more than we think about. Such as the run off in turn 2, the addition of the competition course, corner stations, ect. (turn 2 was costly and benefited our riders saftey more than any other racers that use the course).

This is a great way to show our appreciation and help make things even better for the 2010 season!

Dennis you rock!

Good work Dennis.

It actually wasn't that hard for them to say no because they are getting FREE labor. They are all about free.

Of course it wasn't hard for them to say no...but according to Kristy, they just didn't know how to get something like this started. They had heard of such a thing from back in the past but never knew who organized it back then. (It wasn't me tho) It just seemed like time to fire it back up.

Hopefully more people will step up to the plate tho... wink.gif

We just need a good headcount to plan for the saturday nite feast!
